2019 5K Run for the Future to Benefit the ROI
On Monday, September 16, 2019, attendees of the ASTRO Annual Meeting will gather to support radiation oncology research by participating in the 10th Annual 5K Run for the Future to Benefit the ROI. The annual event is generously hosted by Radiation Business Solutions so that every dollar from sponsorships, registration fees, and donations goes directly to the ROI.
This year's race in Chicago features a course along the Lakefront Trail starting at the Fallen Firefighter and Paramedic Memorial. Participants will run or walk along the picturesque path by Lake Michigan. Sponsors for 2019 include Radiation Business Solutions, Elekta, Varian and Accuray.

In 2019, we are adding a fundraising component and are encouraging those participating in the race, as well as those who are not, to help garner support for research in radiation oncology by asking friends and colleagues to support the ROI through the race.
The ROI 5K always features some friendly competition! The following had the fastest times in 2018. We will watch to see if the winners can retain their edge and if they beat their times from 2018!

It shows our commitment to supporting others in our field, celebrating wellness (and burning carbs!), and building new and lifelong friendships - I would highly recommend for everyone to come!" In addition to competing for the individual titles, academic institutions and corporations participated in team challenges for additional prizes including scholarship money, trophies and bragging rights!
