Consider Giving Monthly

You are probably doing more online than ever before. From paying bills to purchasing merchandise for yourself and others, online activity continues to grow. Another practice that has moved online is making contributions. To support the ROI, you can make a one-time donation or you can set up recurring monthly donations on the ROI website, www.roinstitute.org/donate.

Sameer Keole, MD, FASTRO, from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Arizona, a former member of the ASTRO Board of Directors, appreciates the monthly giving option as it is easy and works for the busy physician.

“The field of radiation oncology has been very good to me. I love the work that I do in being able to take care of patients. And our field is not stagnant, it's constantly evolving for the better. These evolutions come through research. Unfortunately, research funding is more and more difficult to come by. This is why the Radiation Oncology Institute is critical to the future of our field. And this is why I support the ROI. We are all busy. I firmly believe that most radiation oncologists believe in the mission and value of the ROI. But they (we) just get busy with day-to-day life and forget to make a donation. I am guilty of this as well. This is why I appreciate the monthly contribution option. This process took me two minutes to set up online. I make a modest contribution each month, but it adds up. I do not miss the money. And now I know that I am supporting the ROI and more specifically the researchers who are going to continue to push our field forward,” said Dr. Keole.

Giving in smaller amounts each month can make it possible to make a larger gift than you might consider otherwise. For example, by making a $125 monthly gift, you will become a President’s Circle donor and join an active community of supporters with an annual gift that totals $1,500. This support will give you recognition at the President’s Circle level and will provide you with the knowledge that you are supporting the future of radiology oncology research.

When you make the decision to support the ROI, consider a Sustaining Gift through the monthly giving option. You will become a member of the Sustainer’s Circle and will provide a steady source of funding for the ROI. The monthly giving option may be as comfortable and easy for you as it is for Dr. Keole.
