Now Accepting Nominations for the 2018 ROI Publication Award

The ROI is excited to announce an update to our Publication Awards program. For 2018, we have expanded the scope of the Publication Awards to recognize a manuscript on any of ROI’s priority research areas that has been published in the past year in any peer-reviewed journal. The goal is to honor the best scientific work in one of the fields of critical need for radiation oncology that form the ROI’s research agenda:

  • Communication
  • Safety and Quality
  • Toxicity Management
  • Comparative Effectiveness
  • Value

The 2018 ROI Publication Award winner will be recognized at ASTRO’s 60th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas and will receive a $5,000 grant to be used on research that will build upon the work in the award-winning manuscript.

We are accepting nominations for the 2018 ROI Publication Award, which are due by Friday, July 20, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. Nominators must be an ASTRO member and self-nominations are accepted. The article or collection of articles resulting from a single study in one of ROI’s priority research areas must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal with a publication date between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018. The nomination includes a brief statement that should emphasize how the research published in the manuscript aligns with the ROI’s research agenda and describe the impact that the research findings will have on the field of radiation oncology as a whole. A short explanation of how the $5,000 award would be used to advance the lead author’s current research that builds upon the work in the nominated manuscript is also required.

More information about the 2018 ROI Publication Award is available on the Grants and Awards section of our website. Help us recognize the best radiation oncology research that will have a significant impact on the field by submitting a nomination today!
